Abstract: The seminar is about an overview of SeSaMe Centre (NUS) and Computer Vision Technology where the importance of surveillance camera in our daily lives is being highlighted and shared with the 100 registered participants. Cameras such as CCTVs are everywhere, they can be found at commercial & industrial offices, school campuses, immigration checkpoints, shopping malls, parks, roads and many other crowded places. The main highlight of this talk is about surveillance technology developed at SeSaMe Centre (NUS). A few demos had been shown at the seminar. Click here for the information published in Indonesia.
Bio: Dr Lekha Chaisorn received her MsC. in Information and Computer Science from University of Singapore (NUS) in 1996. She obtained her PhD. in Computer Science from University of Singapore (NUS) in 2005. She was an Assistant Division Director (Media Division), Scientist and Senior Research Fellow at Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR in Singapore from 2005 – 2012. She was the Chair of Women in Engineering (WIE), IEEE Singapore Section. Dr Lekha is currently the Deputy Executive Director and Senior Research Fellow at SeSaMe Centre, Interactive & Digital Media Institute (IDMI) in National University of Singapore (NUS).
