N-CRiPT Inaugural Workshop 2019
N-CRiPT commemorated its launch with an Inaugural Workshop on 15 January 2019.
During the event, Distinguished Professor Ooi Beng Chin, Director of NUS Smart Systems Institute, and Mr Ni De En, Director (Services & Digital Economy), NRF, officially inaugurated the Centre while Mr Yeong Zee Kin, Assistant Chief Executive (Data Innovation and Protection), Info-comm Media Development Authority of Singapore and Deputy Commissioner, Personal Data Protection Commission, gave the keynote address speaking on the current state of technology and data growth where privacy preserving technologies will be crucial.
Intended to provide a glimpse into the expertise being developed in N-CRiPT, Centre’s Principal Investigators also gave several talks in the areas of their specialty to an audience comprising members of several government agencies and industry.
Various media outlets also covered the launch of the Centre including Lianhe Zaobao, The Straits Times, The Business Times and NUS News.
